Fair trade in general refers to a system of trade which aims at helping producers or farmers in developing (“Third World”) countries to achieve fairer trading conditions. This is done mainly by paying these producers fair prices for their goods so that they can earn a living for themselves and their family.
Companies that do this are given a “Fair Trade” seal from the World Fair Trade organisation which they can then use to market their products as being “fair trade”.
A “fair trade case study” examines how and why companies have opted for fair trade and how they have implemented it into their company policies.
Hope I was able to help a little :-)
